Ten Years in Prison for Posting Memes?
Ricky Vaughn is the juvenile delinquent Cleveland Indians pitcher, played by Charlie Sheen, to great success in the 1989 film Major League. So it’s no wonder Douglass Mackey chose “Ricky Vaughn” as his nom de Twitter to mock and deride Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential campaign. Mackey’s Vaughn accounts became wildly successful, earning a vast audience. They also earned him a federal felony conviction and a yet-to-be-issued sentence that could be as long as ten years. For memes. That’s right, Mackey’s crime was posting memes on social media.
One of Mackey’s Vaughn accounts was so popular that the Laboratory for Social Machines, part of the MIT Media Lab, ranked it 107 on its list of 2016 Election Influencers — ahead of Drudge, Vox, and NBC News. It’s not hard to understand why. The memes he generated included #draftourdaughters, a satirical campaign identifying Hillary as a warmonger who would put the country’s young women in fatigues to fight her foreign military adventures. Another suggested people could simply text in their vote for Clinton instead of visiting the polls.

In 2021, FBI Special Agent Maegan Rees filed a criminal complaint against Mackey, saying his criminality came about because he, “[i]n conjunction with others known and unknown, spread disinformation about the manner by which citizens could and should cast their votes during the Election” and that such conduct “constituted criminal infringement of the right to vote.” Rees wrote that Mackey:
“made coordinated use of social media to spread disinformation relevant to the impending 2016 Presidential Election … The disinformation spread by these individuals often took the form of ‘memes.’”
How can this be, with the First Amendment protections for free speech? Doesn’t Mackey, or any American, for that matter, have the right to post a meme concerning an election? Rees claimed that “Mackey and his co-conspirators variously discussed and debated aspects of these memes, including their content, their formatting and the timing of their release, and expressed a desire that the memes would influence the behaviors of those who saw them.”

Courthouse News Services’ Nina Pullano reported from the Brooklyn federal courthouse that Biden’s Department of Justice prosecutor declared, “There’s no joke here … It’s not satire. It’s just fraudulent information on how to vote.” He added that the “defendant is not here because of his political beliefs, what he believed is clearly relevant to how and why he acted.”
Breon Peace, US attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said the verdict “proves that the defendant’s fraudulent actions crossed a line into criminality and flatly rejects his cynical attempt to use the constitutional right of free speech as a shield for his scheme to subvert the ballot box and suppress the vote.” US District Judge Ann Donnelly, a Barack Obama appointee, presided over the case. Mackey is scheduled for sentencing in August.
For those who find value in Mackey’s Vaughn account postings and revere freedom of expression, there is hope. In an email to reporters, Mackey’s lawyer Andrew Frisch said the Court of Appeals would have multiple reasons to choose from to overturn the conviction, and “[w]e are optimistic about our chances on appeal.”

(CNSNews.com) - At Monday's White House press briefing, a reporter asked spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre about "the lack of a press conference during the president's upcoming trip (to Ireland)” -- and the lack of press conferences “in general from this White House."
The reporter told Jean-Pierre, "I represent a news organization that owns 113 television stations, and a question that I'm often asked, and I don't know the answer to, so I'll ask you that question: Is the administration trying to protect the president from our questions? Please, answer that question."
"Absolutely not. Absolutely not," Jean-Pierre insisted.
"So why the lack of any interaction in a formal setting to have a press conference?" the reporter asked.
"I mean, the president takes shouted questions," Jean-Pierre said:
"I understand. John, I understand. I understand. I have dealt with this question about three times already. I understand it is the job of you all to ask this question to me. Totally get that.
"And that's not a problem at all, but certainly the president many times has stood in front of all of you, has taken questions on his own because he wanted to see what was all on your minds.
“He wanted to see what the questions you all were going to ask him, and he wanted to answer them directly. That has happened multiple times, many times during this administration and that will certainly continue to be.
“When it comes to a formal press conference, I don't have anything to share with you at this time.”
The reporter, pointing to previous presidents, told Jean-Pierre, "This is not the norm. The norm is, we do get an opportunity to ask the questions to the president about domestic and foreign policy issues in a formal setting at some point, and you choose that point, but we haven't had that opportunity in quite some time."
"So I'll say this," Jean-Pierre said:
"It is also unprecedented that a president takes as many shouted questions as this president has...John, I hear your question. I heard Zeke's question. I hear you. I hear you on the press conference, on a formal press conference.

One of the CC’s primary missions is to observe other country’s elections to insure their voting procedures are free, fair, and impartial. Carter and the CC have observed at least 101 elections in 39 countries on four continents. Some of the hallmarks of fair elections include the right and opportunity to vote, freedom to assemble, and the right to elect candidates of the voters’ choice. In other words, the voters must determine the political candidates, not the government. In North Korea, Russia, and Iran the ruling party is the party in power, and they decide who is allowed to oppose them.
The United States can now join the ignoble list of authoritarian regimes where the party in power is the government, and they decide who can oppose them. In the U.S., become a threat to the ruling party or get too popular and you’ll be arrested and thrown in jail. You disagree? What do you call having President Trump arrested for a non-crime? The NYC DA who arrested Trump didn’t even bother to state a crime that Trump committed. Oh, he listed 34 counts but no crime. Even anti-Trump Politico questioned the legal basis for charging him. Trump’s crime is he opposes the Dems and Biden’s authoritarian regime. Hey, Alvin Bragg, 75% of rural Georgia opposes Biden and his regime, you gonna arrest us all?
Nayib Bukele, President of El Salvador, (a banana republic) blasted the arrest when he tweeted, “Think what you want of President Trump and the reasons he’s being indicted, but imagine if this happened in any other country, where a government arrested the main opposition candidate. The United States’ ability to use “democracy” as foreign policy is gone.” Bukele is 100% correct; he sees what’s happening. Think about when Putin, the ayatollahs, or Castro have their opponent arrested just before an election; and we say, “Thank God that doesn’t happen in America.” Oh yes it does -- Joe Biden and the Democrats just did it. The Dems are despicable. Not one Dem opposes Trump’s arrest. Not one has said anything against it. Remember when you Dems screamed, “Silence is violence.” Well, your silence, in the face of an illegal arrest of President Trump, is deafening.
Trump was arrested for a non-crime only because he’s running against Biden (or whoever is nominated) in 2024. It’s no more complicated than that. Disagree with a Dem and you become the enemy. The Democrats have criminalized opposition, no different than the old Soviet Union, Cuba, or any other dictatorship. They no longer debate the issues. And why should they bother debating when their playbook tells them to accuse anyone who disagrees with them of being a racist, sexist, homophobe, or xenophobe, and then have them arrested? You doubt me? Bragg, during his election campaign, said that he was going to “get Trump” so that Trump could never seek office again. The arrest of candidate Trump is the boldest, most blatant election interference in our nation’s 247-year history. You want more proof? In 2020, the judge assigned to the case donated dollars to Biden and the judge’s daughter worked for Biden’s election campaign. But nothing to see; move along.
Why shouldn’t the Dems arrest Trump? After all, our Republicans have allowed it to happen as they stand by and do nothing. Where are our elected Repubs at the national, state, or local levels? Where are Austin Scott (R-GA, 8th District) and every other national Repub? Where is Governor Brian Kemp, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, or Attorney General Christopher Carr? Where are state senator John Kennedy, representatives Dale Washburn, Robert Dickey, or David Knight? All of you should be screaming. Instead, we hear hardly a peep out of any of them. Hey Repubs -- they will come for all of you. As I said before, they (the Dems) don’t just dislike us, they hate us (but none more hated than Trump) and all who don’t agree with their radical agenda. Our elected Repubs need to stand up and start shouting or soon it’ll be too late.

A new tentacle in the Biden administration's bid to control the news
The Biden administration is still trying to control the news. We saw it already in the government-financed blacklists of conservative outlets and we saw it in the muscling of social media companies.
Now there's this, according to the Washington Free Beacon:
The Biden administration tapped a liberal journalism academy that once promoted a "blacklist" of conservative outlets to train reporters on how to create "balanced and bias-free" journalism.
The Poynter Institute held the training course with reporters as part of a contract with the U.S. Agency for Global Media, according to a federal spending database. The agency, which paid Poynter $23,500 for the course through March 31, oversees Voice of America and other government news outlets.
The agency could seemingly use the training. Republicans have accused the organization of whitewashing stories about Iran and engaging in partisan advocacy in favor of President Joe Biden.
But Poynter may not be the best choice to teach journalists the art of unbiased and balanced reporting. While the organization bills itself as "nonpartisan," it is funded largely by wealthy Democratic donors George Soros, Pierre Omidyar, Craig Newmark, Bill Gates, and Tim Gill, an LGBT activist whose husband is Biden’s ambassador to Switzerland.
In 2019, Poynter released a "blacklist" of conservative news organizations, including the Washington Free Beacon, deemed "unreliable." Poynter retracted the list, called "UnNews," after widespread criticism.
Why there's some kind of "need" for this, particularly for the Voice of America, which is a huge government agency with plenty of in-house talent, is quite a mystery. The agency has been cutting back on actual original reporting, according to my sources in that agency, often in favor of paid news services over actual in-house reporting. They have plenty of veteran correspondents who know how to report news capable of training their fellow newby journalists. Plus, most of their hires come from journalism schools such as Columbia University's and others, which are well-acquainted to Poynter's nominal values. They don't need to be taught them twice.
Two things stand out here -- that this smacks of some kind of Biden payoff to Poynter, which is well connected with Democratic circles and their house organs such as the Washington Post and many of the top jschools, making it an act of political cronyism.
Perhaps even more likely, it appears to be a bid to slant the news in Democrats' favor. It would be interesting to see what these so-called trainings are like for these supposed journalists who apparently know nothing about journalism that they need Poynter to come in and teach them how to be 'unbiased' as members of the U.S. government's house organ.
The Beacon notes that already they have done as much, leading the charge against the New York Post and its Hunter Biden laptop scoop:
In September 2020, Poynter executive Kelly McBride took part in a tabletop exercise held by the liberal Aspen Institute to plot how journalists, social media executives, and others would handle the hypothetical "hack and dump" of First Son Hunter Biden’s emails. The working group advised participants to treat any release of Biden documents with skepticism and to consult with other news organizations and intelligence officials before publishing stories based on the records.
Poynter appeared to follow the advice after emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop appeared in October 2020, when the organization lauded news organizations for ignoring the story. "Hardly any media outlets, except for conservative ones, are giving the story any credence at all," crowed one Poynter writer. McBride, the working group participant, is chair of Poynter’s Craig Newmark Center for Ethics & Leadership. Newmark, a major Joe Biden donor, contributed $5 million to Poynter and millions more to the Aspen Institute.
Any introspective self-criticism on that one? Not that I can tell from the Poynter site. Even the Columbia journalism school's house magazine, the Columbia Journalism Review, ran a series from old New York Timesman Jeff Gerth on the media malfeasance there. Don't see anything from Poynter.
Meanwhile, the Beacon also notes that they are neck-deep in the fact-checking business, with the Washington Post's Glenn Kessler on their fact-checking board, who's been noted in the news for being wrong, not a good thing in a fact-checker whose purported job is to police other journalists.
Fact-checking is a burgeoning new industry geared to boostering the legacy media and stamping out any upstarts to its monopoly, particularly any conservative upstarts by branding them as bad and selling that information as lacking their imprimatur to corporate advertisers for big dollars. The idea is to get advertising pulled and rankings lowered in internet searches for conservative outlets. Naturally, it has become a source of blacklists for Google to deplatform and YouTube to demonetize, which the Beacon notes, they have been doing at Poynter's urging. This is where the big money is and where the swamp things with their consultant contracts are heading. See the career of one Nina Jankowicz, Biden's Mary Poppins-singing censor wannabe. The Beacon notes that Poynter runs Politifact, a fact-checking outfit which has been wrong and spread misinformation itself on many occasions on hot button issues to Democrats.
Even left-leaning Mediaite called Kessler out on his wrong statements, falsely claiming that New York district attorney Alvin Bragg was not funded by Soros.
Soros, eh? The guy who finances the Poynter Institute where Kessler sits on the board for fact-checking.
That's the same Soros who has a rabidly anti-Republican agenda and in the past has claimed that America needs "de-Nazification." Think that might just influence how the Poynter Institute thinks?
Kessler didn't disclose that little conflict of interest.
He's been wrong or biased on other stuff, too. Mollie Hemingway at the Federalist called him out for deceptively editing tweets in his bid to claim that President Trump, who called out a string of conflicts of interest over the man who's judging him using published news articles, and claiming that news articles were "intimidation" of judges. Didn't see anything from him about the thugs and wannabe assassin who were illegally protesting at the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Is 2024 Only A Mirage?
Victor Davis Hanson recently published an essay titled “Our French Revolution.” In it, he describes the cultural upheaval we are experiencing in America today and how we should view those presently in control of our government who clearly intend to destroy what America once was. In short, we are in the midst of a modern-day Jacobin revolution.
Once again, however, left unsaid is what exactly should patriots be doing between now and the next elections in 2024 to stop this emerging tyranny before our nation reaches a point of no return.
Every day, we hear from many patriots who tell us that we’ll be able to fix it all in 2024 when Trump is re-elected and we take the White House back from the Democrats.
But, to be safe, should we not be asking, is that a realistic strategy or only a form of group denial by some among us who refuse to accurately assess our present reality? The indictment of President Trump this week strongly suggests it very well could be the latter.
Set aside the legitimacy of the charges, whether President Trump will eventually emerge victorious over Alvin Bragg and even whether he would be your first choice to be our next President. The fact is, the ruling elite now in power are aware that even if he is not convicted, under no circumstances can they ever risk his again regaining control of our federal government’s levers of power. Those elitist members of the swamp know that to allow President Trump to return to the White House would likely expose them to being indicted, prosecuted, and most likely convicted by his administration for the crimes they have all committed in the course of their numerous malicious conspiracies to illegally interfere with our elections for the overall intentional purpose of overthrowing the administration of a duly elected President of the United States of America.
In pertinent part, Proverbs 28:1 tells us this truth: “A guilty man flees when no one is chasing…” Translated to the present circumstances: the elitists know that the indictment of President Trump last week not only motivated him to want to hold them accountable for the witch hunts they have plagued him with over the last six years, but has also opened for him the precedent he needed to be able to indict them for their crimes. Moreover, all of President Trump’s persecutors no doubt have a very real fear of being held accountable should he regain power because they know in their hearts such retribution is something they would do if they were him. Thus, whether or not President Trump would actually follow through with such a purge of these corrupt elitist criminals does not matter. What does matter today is that they think he would, and they will therefore do anything they can between now and the next election to stop him. Which, in turn, means that is all that should matter to all patriots right now, because it is that fear that will drive their actions to stop President Trump in his tracks between now and 2024. All that is left is for patriots to anticipate the means by which these tyrants will attempt to accomplish this purpose, which is anyone’s guess at this point.
Will the Democrats again attempt to rig the elections as Biden did in 2020?
Some may say, “We won’t let them do that again this time around.” But that assumes they will even care whether you witness their cheating in 2024, which, in turn, denies the truth that, at this point, they have become completely indifferent as to whether anyone even knows of their cheating any more. This was clearly demonstrated in 2022 with the otherwise inexplicable upset of Kari Lake in Arizona and the equally inexplicable victory of John Fetterman in Pennsylvania.
Remember, these bad actors are also the folks who encouraged unethical federal prosecutors to callously force Jacob Chansley -- who posed no real threat to them whatsoever -- to enter a plea for four years in prison while they knowingly hid from him, his defense attorneys, and the court, the exculpatory videos that established his innocence. In a fair world such prosecutors would be fired, disbarred, and sent to prison to take the place of the man they wrongfully forced to go there.
But so far, they haven’t been, and such is but one more example of justice wrongfully delayed that should be a warning to us all.
If such unethical -- and indeed, criminal -- federal prosecutors, and the tyrants they work for, would be so evil as to do that to a powerless man like Chansley who posed no real threat to them whatsoever, there is little doubt that such evil people will not hesitate to do far worse to prevent a presidential candidate like Trump from gaining victory and therefore, continue to insulate themselves from any accountability for their wrongs.
All this to say that our hope that the 2024 elections will enable us to restore America’s greatness is very likely a mere mirage… and, it is to our peril -- as well as President Trump’s -- if we continue to deny it and do nothing now to challenge the tyranny before us.

Since Biden’s inauguration, the University of Pennsylvania has disclosed at least $14 million in donations from China or Hong Kong, the Free Beacon reported last week. Donald Trump in 2016 was a direct threat to the conspiracy. Trump, as an outsider, was not constrained by the political establishment in DC. The voters understood that our elected were self-dealing, lining their pockets with public funds, and acting counter to the best interests of our country. The voters knew; “Trump was no angel, unpresidential, and sometimes crude. The people knew what they were getting when they voted for Trump.”
Hillary Clinton had to win the 2016 election, or the dike holding back the truth would burst. If the truth were laid bare, it would expose the Obama Administration, Hillary Clinton, the Senate and House, and many executive departments for their complicity in abuses of power and collaboration with our adversaries. Much to their dismay, Donald Trump won the election.
US Attorney William Barr accused the “liberal ‘resistance’ of trying to ‘sabotage’ Trump.” A soft coup with the false Russian collusion narrative and other illegal actions to cover for its collective crimes before and after the 2016 election continued through the 2020 election and is now in the campaign cycle before the 2024 election. So is evidenced by the recent indictment of Trump for a crime that doesn't exist – "Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime.” Alan Dershowitz says this conspiracy will do anything to Get Trump.
Dr. Anthony Fauci was the last straw. Everyone was personally affected by the COVID fraud under the cloak of a public health crisis. The perpetrators intentionally obscured the origin of COVID-19. The totalitarian actions of mandatory vaccination, needless lockdowns, and denial of effective treatment therapies that killed millions worldwide had more to do with concealing the profits made and reinforcing the control of the people setting the stage for election fraud in 2020. The truth was actively suppressed and censored at the behest of government agents. Many people now see the lying by politicians and experts of the administrative state about COVID.
During my 35-year law enforcement career, including as a police detective, I investigated many elaborate criminal conspiracies, including public conflict of interest cases, embezzlements, financial crimes, and frauds, as well as illicit nonprofits engaging in money laundering to divert funds. I wrote and served hundreds, if not thousands, of criminal search warrants. Most of these cases were successfully prosecuted.
There sometimes comes a point when common sense dictates that seemingly unrelated incidents are connected and were intentional acts. With a jaundiced eye, I watched this COVID kabuki theater unfold. An elaborate illusion to cover for criminality is now exposed for all to see.
In my professional opinion, there is substantial probable cause (PC) to believe that agents of our government, including President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, aided or abetted by others engaged in an ongoing criminal conspiracy with a common purpose, committed serious felonies and concealed these crimes over many years.
This PC warrants an investigation of the perpetrators. There must be accountability to restore the people’s faith in our elected politicians and the unelected administrative state government, lest we descend into a dictatorial Banana Republic.

Facts, Information, and Opinions:
- Like the Biden family, the Clinton family are criminal enterprises (RICO). Both interfered with presidential elections with the aid of the FBI, the CIA, and other administrative entities - lowballing the Clinton espionage investigation (bathroom server), the Benghazi raid (gun running weapons from Libya to Syria), spying on then-candidate Trump and Russiagate before the 2016 election and after, the deep-sixing Hunter Biden’s laptop from Hell before the 2020 election, and using COVID (the Chinese bioweapon released either accidentally or intentionally - an act of war) as an excuse to interfere with the 2020 election by election fraud.
- Biden abdicated his constitutional duty to defend the border. The Chinese exploited this opportunity to flood the country with Fentanyl - supplying the Mexican cartels with the precursors to manufacture and distribute the Fentanyl. The Fentanyl is killing about one hundred thousand yearly to wreak havoc and chaos in our communities. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan directly benefited the Chinese. In his pursuit of green energy, Biden also immensely rewards the Chinese and others in this scam (here), which is a massive redistribution of wealth (here).
- The DOJ, the FBI, and the CIA have gone full Stasi. They are attacking and intimidating the political enemies of the radical Left without regard for the rule of law. The arrests and SWAT raids on the houses of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, Paul Manaford, Roger Stone, James O’Keefe of Project Veritas, Mark Houck, and former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence were the most egregious examples. They were selectively prosecuting the alleged January 6th “insurrectionists” to the exclusion of the violent acts of BLM and Antifa (The insurrection that wasn’t). They targeted, at the direction of the US Attorney General, parents attending school board meetings to complain about CRT and other progressive curricula as domestic terrorists.
- BLM and Antifa are domestic terrorist organizations disguised as legitimate public interest groups. Both have crossed the threshold of peaceful assemblies, committing serious felonies to create chaos akin to the Brown Shirts of the Third Reich.
- NGOs funded by George Soros and others dropped millions of dollars into local district attorney races to elect far-left prosecutors (as many as 70). Under the veil of social justice reform, these prosecutors implemented policies including no cash bail, which released violent serial offenders without regard for public safety. The released, ruthless, violent criminals commit new murders, rape, robberies, and mayhem before trial. Again, to wreak havoc and chaos within our communities, who then, in fear for their safety, will willingly relinquish their civil rights in exchange for totalitarian controls.
- Russiagate was a domestic disinformation operation run by the CIA and the FBI. They were illegally running an illegal domestic spy operation on Trump under the guise of a counter-intel operation. The FBI lied in securing FISA warrants to spy on President-elect Trump using political opposition research paid for and supplied by the Clinton campaign. I could assure you if I lied in a warrant affidavit, my superiors would have thrown me out the door.

James Comer: Four Biden Family Business Associates Cooperating with Investigation into Joe Biden
Four Biden family business associates are cooperating with the House investigation into President Joe Biden and his family, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) said Monday.
Comer is investigating Joe Biden and the Biden family for nine violations, including money laundering and wire fraud. The probe has encompassed subpoenaing bank records and demanding cooperation from family business associates.

“We are in communication with four former Biden family business associates,” Comer told Fox Business. “They are cooperating with our investigation.”
“And I will tell you it’s very concerning,” he said about the information the whistleblowers revealed to the committee.
The committee was not able to confirm to Breitbart News who the four members were due to their whistleblower status, but one member is likely Hunter Biden’s top financial lieutenant Eric Schwerin.

In February, a spokesperson for the committee told Breitbart News that Schwerin was “soon” expected to provide documents to Comer’s probe.
Schwerin’s cooperation with the committee comes after Hunter plotted to betray Schwerin in 2019 amid their crumbling relationship, built upon an off-the-books business arrangement, text messages obtained by Breitbart News from Hunter’s laptop show.
In tandem with whistleblower cooperation, Comer’s probe has begun to produce tangible results. The committee revealed in March the Biden family received a collective $1.3 million cut in 2017 from a Biden family business associate, who was sent a $3 million wire transfer from a Chinese energy company linked to the CCP.
“We believe the reason the family was receiving this money is because of favors that Joe Biden did as vice president and or as president,” Comer told Bloomberg last week.
“[There are] at least ten different transactions that will show the president’s immediate family was receiving funds from the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer added.
On Saturday, Breitbart News exclusively reported email exchanges between the Biden family and business associates that reveal the “anatomy of a Biden family business.” The scheme includes Biden family members holding an interest in an organization “on behalf of the VP.” Breitbart News reported:
Team Biden was to receive $12.5 million for the establishment of the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware (UD), which launched shortly after Joe Biden left the vice presidency in 2017. The arrangement meant a nice payday for the Bidens and their associates. And, as it turned out, the launch of the Biden Institute coincided with a bonanza in foreign money donations for the university. Correspondences show that UD wanted Joe Biden to raise funds for the university after his institute opened.
In the weeks and months following the opening of the Institute, UD received foreign cash donations totaling more than $33 million, including $6.7 million from China. Of that sum, three gifts came directly from the Chinese Communist government.
In a series of email exchanges that included Hunter Biden, Valerie Biden Owens (Joe’s sister who called Hunter Biden the “central person” in the UD plans), two of Owens’s daughters (Joe’s nieces), and various Biden business associates, they discussed ways that they could benefit from Biden’s academic ventures and having “the Biden Foundation” or a “family member” sign a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) “on behalf of the VP.” Emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop show that UD and Team Biden negotiated ways to compensate Biden family members, including Joe Biden’s sister Valerie Biden Owens.

A Wednesday Fox News poll found more voters over the course of four-month period are convinced Hunter and President Joe Biden have done something illegal or unethical in relation to his family’s business.

Biden Family’s CEFC China Energy Co. Partner, Mervyn Yan, Subpoenaed
Biden family business associate Mervyn Yan, a former top CEFC China Energy Co. official, was recently subpoenaed by House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), a notable development in the Biden family business investigation.
As a former CEFC official, Yan was an integral member of the Chinese energy conglomerate with strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Yan appears to be one of the few top CEFC officials who has not been detained or arrested.

The White House / YouTubeIn 2018, the chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, who had a number of ties to Chinese military intelligence, was detained in China on bribery charges. Through Ye, Hunter established a relationship with his associate Patrick Ho, who Hunter said was “the fucking spy chief of China.” In 2019, Ho was sentenced to three years in prison for his role in a scheme to bribe top officials of Chad and Uganda in exchange for business advantages for CEFC.
Yan has maintained a much lower profile than Ye and Ho. But emails from Hunter’s abandoned laptop show Yan was aware of the money exchanged between the Biden family and CEFC, such as for Hunter’s $1 million legal retainer, and additional Biden family dealings.
Yan did not respond to comment from Breitbart News about whether or not he has complied with Comer’s subpoena or if his information would reveal Biden family wrongdoing. He also failed to answer if he possessed any information that would implicate President Joe Biden is his family’s business dealings with the Chinese Communist Party-liked entity.
Comer has subpoenaed Yan for his role in the Biden family business with CEFC, an entity that had many deals with the Biden family. In 2017, CEFC negotiated with the Bidens on a joint venture in which the “Big Guy” would receive a ten percent equity stake. In the same year, CEFC gave interest-free loans to the Biden family. Hunter also received a large diamond in 2017 from Ye worth an estimated $80,000.

In addition, CEFC had plans to invest in U.S. infrastructure and set up corresponding entities, Hudson West IV and SinoHawk. Hunter and James Biden controlled those entities. In March 2018, James demanded the legal services payment and provided CEFC “wiring instructions” to transfer the funds to Hudson West III LLC.
“Received and will take care of this ASAP,” Yan replied to James. The next day, the wire transfer when through.
As CEFC’s business continued, Yan began to suspect Hunter was not being forthright about Hunter’s business expenses and asked for receipts. In response, Hunter threatened Yan with a lawsuit for not paying. In November of 2018, “Yan signed a document on Nov. 2, 2018, dissolving Hudson West III LLC,” the Washington Post reported.
In March, Comer revealed the Biden family received a collective $1.3 million cut in 2017 from a Biden family business associate, who was sent a $3 million wire transfer from CEFC. Hunter has confirmed the $1.3 million CEFC payout, while Joe Biden falsely denied it. “That’s not true,” Joe Biden told reporters.
Comer has not only subpoenaed Yan. He has also attempted to compel four U.S. banks to provide financial documents about the family’s business deals: Bank of America, Cathay Bank, JPMorgan Chase, and HSBC USA N.A.
According to Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) 2020 report, Cathay Bank received the $1 million wire transfer from HSBC USA N.A. for Hunter’s legal services that Yan promised to facilitate.
In 2018 and 2020, Breitbart Senior Contributor and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer published Secret Empires and Profiles in Corruption. Each book hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and exposed how Hunter Biden and Joe Biden flew aboard Air Force Two in 2013 to China before Hunter’s firm inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China less than two weeks after the trip. Schweizer’s work also uncovered the Biden family’s other vast and lucrative foreign deals and cronyism. Breitbart Political Editor Emma-Jo Morris’s investigative work at the New York Post on the Hunter Biden “laptop from hell” also captured international headlines when she, along with Miranda Devine, revealed that Joe Biden was intimately involved in Hunter’s businesses, appearing to even have a ten percent stake in a company the scion formed with officials at the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party.
