Trump Posts Video of Hillary Clinton Calling for ‘A Strong Russia’

On Thursday, President Donald Trump tweeted video of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton saying, “We want very much to have a strong Russia.”
“Will the Dems and Fake News ever learn? This is classic!,” Trump commented in his tweet, in apparent response to Democrat and liberal news media criticism of his comments about, and dealings with, Russia.
In the video, Ms. Clinton states:
“We want very much to have a strong Russia because a strong, competent, prosperous, stable Russia is, we think, in the interests of the world.”
Clinton made the remark in an answer to a question by Vladimir Pozner during an interview in Russia for First Channel Television on March 19, 2010.
The U.S. Department of State website transcript of the question and Clinton’s full answer is provided below:
QUESTION: Alexander (inaudible): “What in your view is America’s place in the modern world? Is it a force aimed at supporting the world’s equilibrium? Or is it a force aimed at changing the status quo?”SECRETARY CLINTON: It’s both in this way, Vladimir. It is a force to sustain an equilibrium that permits countries and individuals to progress, to become more self-realizing. I mean, we want very much to have a strong Russia because a strong, competent, prosperous, stable Russia is, we think, in the interests of the world. But at the same time, there are countries and places where the status quo is just not acceptable. Last summer, I went to the Democratic Republic of Congo. I went to Eastern Congo where 5.4 million people had been killed in the last 15 years, the greatest death toll since the Second World War. We don’t want that status quo to be sustained.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says the only person whom he and others “actually know colluded with the Russians” is former Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Rand was on Fox News Wednesday morning clarifying his stance on Russia’s election meddling and the intelligence community.
President Trump faced broad outrage over comments he made during the Helsinki, Finland, summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday. Trump was criticized for not being more forceful with the Russian leader and for not backing up U.S. intelligence findings of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump clarified his comments in a short statement at the White House on Tuesday.
When asked to explain the controversy, Rand said that the president thinks the Muller investigation is “tainted” by partisan Democrats that also colluded with Russia.
“The president sees the Mueller investigation. He sees all these accusations from partisan Democrats, Hillary Clinton, saying ‘Oh, he colluded with the Russians,” Rand said. “The only people who we actually know colluded with the Russians were Hillary Clinton who paid a British agent who paid Russians for information for the dossier.”
Rand was referring to the infamous unverified Steele dossier compiled by Fusion GPS and paid for by the Clinton campaign.
“[Trump] feels like the intelligence community cooked up a political and partisan investigation,” Rand continued, “but also, part of the Mueller investigation is something that should have investigated, and that is: Who hacked into Hillary Clinton’s emails?”
Rand concluded, “There is part of the Mueller investigation that is legitimate and part of it that is a partisan attack on the president.”
Rand went on to say that he lost faith in the intelligence community after the NSA spying and data collection scandal during the Obama years.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) said virtually all emails of former State Secretary Hillary Clinton were sent to a “foreign hostile power.”
He made the claim at a House committee hearing on July 12, where FBI agent Peter Strzok testified about his role in the counterintelligence probe of alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia.
At the most heated point of the hearing, Gohmert asked Strzok about his meeting with people from the office of then-Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) Charles McCullough.
Gohmert said that investigator Frank Rucker and attorney Janette McMillan, both from McCullough’s team, briefed Strzok and three other FBI officials about a forensic analysis of the Clinton emails by the ICIG. The analysis uncovered an anomaly in Clinton’s emails showing that virtually every email she sent was forwarded to an unauthorized foreign entity.
“Every single one except four—over 30,000—were going to an address that was not on the distribution list,” he said. “It was a compartmentalized bit of information that was sending it to an unauthorized source.”
Gohmert said that Strzok ignored the briefing and never followed up on the lead.
“You did nothing more than nod and shake the man’s hand,” Gohmert said. “You didn’t seem to be all that concerned about our national integrity of our national election when it was involving Hillary Clinton.”
Strzok, former FBI deputy assistant director, was the leading investigator in a case probing Clinton’s use of a personal email server during her time as State Secretary (2009–2013).
Strzok testified that he met Rucker once or twice but couldn’t remember the content of their conversations.
On July 13, Gohmert expounded on the anomaly uncovered regarding Clinton’s emails.
“There were instructions on every email that came in or went out to go to a different address that belonged to a foreign entity that was not Russia,” he toldFox Business.
“Our security was at risk with 30,000 emails going to a foreign hostile power, and [Strzok] did nothing about it.”
Gohmert also said that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz was contacted by someone four times about the same finding but never returned the call.
Gohmert’s reference to the ICIG goes to the heart of the Clinton email investigation.
In 2014, Congress opened an inquiry into the 2012 deadly terrorist attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, which the Obama administration falsely tried to portray as being the result of spontaneous protests of a YouTube video. The lawmakers requested documents from Clinton, including emails, and on Dec. 5, 2014, according to the FBI, Clinton’s lawyers gave the State Department about 30,000 printed emails they deemed work-related.
While people and organizations were suing for Clinton’s emails based on Freedom of Information laws, the ICIG was asked to help sort through the emails to determine whether they contained classified information. After the inspectors went through just 300 documents, they already had found two classified ones, McCullough told Congress in 2016 testimony.
When McCullough learned that the emails were sitting on Clinton’s server managed by a private company, he informed the agencies that produced the classified information and was told to refer the matter to the FBI. He did so on July 6, 2015, and the FBI launched the probe on July 10, 2015.
It was also the ICIG that noticed some of Clinton’s emails had classified markings on them, according to Strzok’s text message to his mistress, high-ranking FBI attorney Lisa Page.
“Remind me to tell you to flag for Andy [redacted] emails we (actually the ICIG) found that have portion marks (C) on a couple of paras. DoJ was Very Concerned about this,” he wrote on June 13, 2016.
Clinton previously claimed she had never sent or received anything marked classified.
McCullough, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, also said in November that he got blowback from the Obama administration after he raised the alarm about the classified documents in Clinton’s emails. This was especially so after he alerted Congress in January 2016 that 22 of the emails contained information classified at the top secret/special access program level.
If those had become public, lives would have been at risk, he told Fox News.
“All the sudden, I became a ‘shill of the right,’” he said. “I was told by members of Congress, ‘Be careful. You’re losing your credibility. … There are people out to get you.’”
Requests for comment from Gohmert, the ICIG, the director of national intelligence, and McCullough were not answered by press time.
